This dramatic close-up shot of the Museum's Boeing Model 80A-1 details the mix of old and new construction materials used on this, the first purpose built Boeing air liner. The biplane design, utilizing metal, wood, fabric and a maze of struts and bracing wires, would very soon give way to the modern, streamlined, metal monoplanes that were just beginning to enter service".
