"The “You’ll like Linton” sign has been up since early 1930’s. Linton is known for their huge 4th of July celebration and has the largest Independence Day in Indiana with a route that spans 17 blocks. The gals on the vintage car was part of the parade procession of 1946; my mother is in that group. She was 17 years old. I have lived in Linton all my life & have never missed a parade. I am 67 years old, retired; enjoying my grandchildren, collecting cacti and drinking coffee on my front porch while my cat (Pirate) sleeps at my feet. (Contact me if you wish to know which gal is my mom - she turned 95 this year)."

Mom says she did not know how to pose for the picture, so she did her best. I think she is beautiful and I was so happy she stepped out of her comfort zone. Her friend sits on the hood with a beach ball. My mom says it was her one minute of fame because she never modeled again. She was a good mom; still is ♡”
